For our big day we have chose the "claret and blue" theme! As Ian is a crazy Aston Villa fan and we are holding our special day on the 25th Anniversary that Villa won the European Cup back in 1982, we thought well let's go the full whack and have a "claret and blue wedding". Ian is over the moon about this and I am so proud to be having a claret and blue wedding and giving my special babe Ian another truly, special memorable day of the 26th May 2007 that he will never forget xxx (Ian: aah thank you baby, a memorable day has been made truly unforgettable xx)
Our claret and blue wedding invitations: Each of our guests who is attenting our wedding have received one of our claret and blue themed invites, along with the invites we are also having the order of service, seating plan and table name cards in claret and blue.

So to keep with the claret and blue theme, I searched for days and days to try and get everything to match in claret and blue....Firstly I found the cups, bowls, plates, napkins and even the knives and forks in claret and blue which our guests will enjoy there buffet from at the evening reception.

Then I found the napkins, these are in claret and blue, we have also had these engraved with our names, the date of our wedding and the claddagh sign which is a sign of our love for each other.

Then came the balloons, I have searched the internet and shops and eventually came across claret and blue balloons! Our balloons are personalised with our names and date of our marriage and these shall be in clusters of three on each table at our wedding breakfast and they will also be at our evening reception in clusters of three on the tables, along with a few large claret and blue balloon displays as you enter our reception. I've also got several packs of Aston Villa balloons from the club shop, which you will see on our big day!!
Now to capture our big day we shall be having cameras on each table both at the wedding breakfast and evening reception and guess what......these are claret and blue too!!

For our wedding we have lots of party decorations such as party poppers, streamers and lots of table confetti, and sparkly colouful personalised table confetti.

Another little extra and I really did try my hardest but I couldn't get these in claret and blue! We also have personalised beach towels and flip flops to take with us on our honeymoon. (Ian: oh please!)
As all our guests arrive at our wedding breakfast and evening reception there shall be a guest book on display, in which people can leave their messages in throughout the day and evening. We are also keeping all of our kind messages and good wishes which we are receiving through our "claret and blue website" and we shall create a folder of them all along, with a print out of our website so in years to come when Ian and I are old we can sit with our children (in a few years time :-)!!) (Ian: what??) get our memories box out and spend hours looking through all of your lovely messages which you've sent and read all about the build up and first weeks of married life - thank you to you all for contributing to our special day, we hope you enjoyed reading about our claret and blue wedding.
