The venue for our Wedding Breakfast is the Mango Tree Restaurant in Stonnall. After the Church ceremony Ian and I shall be chauffer driven in a 1927 Chevrolet with a glass of champagne to the wedding breakfast where we shall meet and greet about 85 of our daytime guests. We chose the Mango Tree as it has an outstanding reputation for cleanliness and most of all the food is out of this world (We’ve sampled a few takeaway’s!!) It has also won the following awards: South Indian Food Award 1994, Best Ethnic Restaurant 2004, Best Seafood Recipe Finalist 2005, Best Wine List Of The Year 2005, Top 30 Indian Restaurant In The UK 2005 and UK’s Top Ethnic Restaurant 2005.
We decided on one Saturday afternoon last year to take my Mom along to the Mango Tree (for a third opinion), we turned up unannounced when it was closed on the off chance that there would be someone there to welcome us and let us have a mooch around! We knocked on the door and were greeted by a couple of waiters who were dressed very smartly in trousers, shirts and tie’s - we were already impressed considering they were closed!
The waiting staff were very friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. Out from the kitchen came the Manager/Head Chef Marriappan Sethurajapillai aka Murray

who has a real cool claim to fame…. he starred alongside Keith Floyd in the famous TV series “Floyd On India” He is an excellent chef, a lovely friendly man who has promised to make our wedding breakfast a special afternoon to remember forever at his restaurant. Murray showed us around his restaurant it was spotless, the bar, kitchen, eating area and the toilets were immaculate. The toilets were like those one’s you get in posh hotels with the big high sinks; I was like “wow” when I walked in there!
At the back of the Restaurant they have a lovely grassed area especially for wedding photos with lovely views of the fields and St Peters Church (where our ceremony is) in the distance. We are having made claret and blue flower arrangements for each table, claret and blue name cards for each guest with the Aston Villa logo on and the Claddagh symbol along with claret and blue balloons and other decorations.
